Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov signed the Paris agreement on the sidelines of the General Assembly at the UN headquarters in New York.
The agreement is a “road map” of measures that will reduce emissions released to the atmosphere and strengthen resilience to climate change.
The Paris agreement was adopted by all 196 sides of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change at the 21st Conference, held in Paris on December 12, 2015.
The agreement was opened for signature on April 22, 2016. The representatives of 191 countries signed the document.
The agreement will come in effect on the thirtieth day after it is ratified by at least 55 countries.
According to the message, some 60 countries joined the Paris agreement. (Trend/Business World Magazine)
