Nibulon’s transshipment terminal in Kherson region has officially handled 1 million tons of grain and oilseeds. The terminal began operation in 2012.
In its four years of operation the terminal has received, processed and shipped 481,000 tons of wheat, 244,100 tons of barley, 139,700 tons of corn, 91,200 tons of rapeseed and 57,000 tons of soybean, sorghum and sunflower.
The transshipment terminal is located on the Kakhovka lock, which allows for year-round shipments. The use of inland waterways took 42,000 trucks off highway of the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions of Ukraine.
The terminal’s silo capacity is 76,000 tons, dryer capacity comprises of 3,000 tons per day and shipment capacity is 10,000 tons per day. Silo capacity for moist grain is 250 tons each.
The terminal currently employs 100 staff members and 452 of the 515 suppliers to the terminal are agricultural producers. (World-Grain/Business World Magazine)
