Crews of the Baltic Fleet naval aviation are practicing intercepting and eliminating aerial targets, searching for submarines of the simulated enemy, and performing bombardment in naval and ground ranges in course of the flight tactic exercise.
More than 500 servicemen, over 20 Su-27 fighters, Su-24 bombers, Mi-24, Mi-8 and Ka-27 helicopters, and An-26 transports are involved in the exercise.
The servicemen are to participate in about 15 tactic episodes and perform assigned tasks such as covering ground forces, providing aerial reconnaissance, eliminating command posts, armored vehicles, manpower, aerial objects and submarines of the simulated enemy.
The exercise is held in order to improve the skills of servicemen of the Baltic Fleet aviation units in performing assigned tasks. (Russian Aviation/Business World Magazine)
