Antonov state enterprise (Kyiv) intends in 2017 to provide 100% import substitution of Russian materials and components in the new generation Antonov airplanes promoted to the market, the press service of the company said, with reference to Antonov President Oleksandr Kotsiuba.
“We plan next year to complete the program of import substitution of Russian components, which began in summer 2015. We’ve achieved corresponding agreements with suppliers from Europe, Canada, the United States and Ukraine”, Kotsiuba said.
“After that the mass production of the new aircraft will started including building of An-178 aircraft”, he said.
Among Antonov’s new cooperation partners are U.S.-based Honeywell, Canada’s CMC Electronics and Pratt&Whitney Canada.
