In January-August the Port of Tallinn handled 13.97 million tons of cargo (down by 8.2% YoY). According to the Port Authorities, transshipment of containers and liquid bulk cargo dropped by 5.5% (131,172 TEUs) and 22% (7.04 million tons) accordingly.
Transshipment of loose bulk cargo increased by 35.5% (2.40 million tons), Ro-Ro – by 5% (2.99 million tons).
In January-August, the ports of Tallinna Sadam were visited by 7.15 million passengers (+4.5%, YoY).
Port of Tallinn ranks fourth largest seaport, next to St. Petersburg, Primorsk and Ust-Luga, on the Baltic Sea. The Port comprises of five so-called port zones: Muuga, Old City Harbor, Paljassaare, Paldiski South and Saaremaa. In 2014 throughput at Tallinn port totaled 22.44 million tons.
