As of September 9, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 38.8 million tons of grains throughout the areas of 10 million ha, or 70% of the plan. The average yield totaled 3.9 ton/ha, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reported. On the same date last year the production volumes reached 37.6 million tons.
In particular, agrarians started harvesting corn. As of the reporting date, Ukraine harvested 316 thousand tons of the grain throughout 79 thousand ha (2%). The average yield reached 3.99 ton/ha.
Also, Ukraine harvested 128 thousand tons of buckwheat throughout 99 thousand ha (66%). The average yield totaled 1.29 ton/ha. Agrarians harvested millet throughout 81 thousand ha (79%). The production volumes totaled 149 thousand tons, with the yield at 1.83 ton/ha.
Agricultural enterprises of Ukraine harvested 1.8 million tons of sunflower seed throughout 905 thousand ha (15%), with the average yield of 1.98 ton/ha. The forecast of sunflower seed areas totals 5.9 million ha.
Ukraine continued harvesting soybeans. Agrarians harvested 413 thousand tons of oilseed throughout the areas of 201 thousand ha (11%), with the average yield of 1.98 ton/ha.
Also, agrarians planted winter rapeseed throughout 620 thousand ha, or 86% of the planned areas (in 2015 – 430 thousand ha). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
