As of September 8, Russian agrarians continued harvesting grains and pulses. Agrarians harvested grain crops throughout the general areas of 36.1 million ha (on the same date in 2015 – 30.8 million ha), or 76.3% of the planned areas (47.3 million ha). The produced volumes reached 98.6 million tons of grains, with the average yield of 2.73 ton/ha (in 2015 – 78.7 million tons with the yield of 2.56 ton/ha), the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reported.
In particular, agrarians harvested winter and spring wheat throughout 22.4 million ha (80.8% of the plan). The produced volumes reached 68.1 million tons, with the yield of 3.04 ton/ha.
Russia harvested 17.8 million tons of winter and spring barley throughout 7.5 million ha (89.3%). The average yield totaled 2.38 ton/ha.
Agrarians harvested corn for grain throughout 130.9 thousand ha (4.5%), and produced 652.9 thousand tons of corn, with the average yield at 4.99 ton/ha.
Also, Russia harvested rapeseed throughout 443 thousand ha (44.5%), and produced 607.5 thousand tons of rapeseed, with the average yield of 1.37 ton/ha.
Russian agrarians continued sunflower seed harvesting campaign. Agrarians harvested 650.3 thousand tons of sunflower seed throughout 303.4 thousand ha (4%). The average yield totaled 2.14 ton/ha.
Also, agrarians started harvesting soybeans: the harvested areas reached 134.6 thousand ha, the produced volumes – 242.9 thousand tons, the average yield – 1.8 ton/ha.
Russia harvested flaxseed throughout 28.9 thousand ha only, or 60.1% of the planted areas.
As of September 8, Russian agrarians planted winter crops for the harvest-2017 throughout 5.8 million ha, or 33.4% of the planned areas (in 2015 – 5.5 million ha). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
