Russian oil company Gazprom Neft has offered partnership on two Arctic shelf deposits, Kheisovsky and Severo-Vrangelevsky, to China’s CNOOC, CEO of parent company Gazprom Alexei Miller said.
Miller said that Gazprom suggested that CNOOC participate in the development of the shelf fields of Gazprom Neft, without elaborating.
“As regards oil, we are considering this opportunity, such proposals have been made”, Miller said.
Gazprom Neft has been carrying out geological exploration on the Kheisovsky and Severo-Vrangelevsky deposits since August 2015, according to its reports.
The Kheisovsky’s prospective resources are estimated at 140 million tons of oil and 2 trillion cubic meters of gas, the resources of Severo-Vrangelevsky stand at 2 billion tons of oil and condensate and 1 trillion cubic meters of gas. (Prime/Business World Magazine)
