Bridgestone Corp. plans to launch a 12.5 billion ruble tire plant in the city of Ulyanovsk in September, the government of the region said in a report.
“Bridgestone’s first Russian and CIS tire plant will be launched on September 13, on the territory of industrial park Zavolzhye in Ulyanovsk. Deliveries of the produced goods, radial type tires for passenger cars, will be made to the Russian market at large”, the regional government said. Exports to CIS states are not ruled out in the long term.
The capacity will amount to 2 million tires a year with a possibility of extending production to 4 million tires. (Prime/Business World Magazine)
