As of September 1, Russian agrarians continued harvesting grains and pulses. Agrarians harvested grain crops throughout the general areas of 32.6 million ha (on the same date in 2015 – 27.1 million ha), or 68.9% of the planned areas (47.3 million ha). The produced volumes reached 92.2 million tons of grains, with the average yield of 2.83 ton/ha (in 2015 – 72 million tons with the yield of 2.66 ton/ha), the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reported.
In particular, agrarians harvested winter and spring wheat throughout 20.1 million ha (72.6% of the plan). The produced volumes reached 61.8 million tons, with the yield of 3.26 ton/ha.
Russia harvested 17 million tons of winter and spring barley throughout 7 million ha (83.8%). The average yield totaled 2.42 ton/ha.
Agrarians harvested corn for grain throughout 29.4 thousand ha (1%), and produced 145.1 thousand tons of grain, with the average yield at 4.94 ton/ha.
Also, Russia harvested winter rapeseed throughout 303.4 thousand ha (30.5%), and produced 421.6 thousand tons of the oilseed, with the average yield of 1.39 ton/ha.
Russian agrarians continued the sunflower harvesting campaign. Agrarians harvested 180.7 thousand tons of the oilseed throughout 86.5 thousand ha (1.2%). The average yield totaled 2.09 ton/ha.
Agrarians have also started harvesting soybeans: the harvested areas reached 52.8 thousand ha, the produced volumes – 95.9 thousand tons, the average yield – 1.81 ton/ha.
Russia harvested flaxseed throughout 26.3 thousand ha only, or 54.7% of the planted areas.
As of September 1, Russian agrarians planted winter crops for the harvest-2017 throughout 2.9 million ha, or 16.7% of the planned areas (in 2015 – 3.2 million ha). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
