In January-August the network of Russian Railways loaded 809.6 million tons, up by 168%, the company’s press center says.
In the reported period the railways shipped the following goods: 214 million tons of coal (up by 3.2% YoY); 7.7 million tons of coke (+2.75%); 156.6 million tons of crude and oil products (-7.5%); 73.2 million tons of iron and manganese ores (+1.3%); 47.3 million tons of ferrous metal (-1.8%); 9.6 million tons of ferrous metal scrap (-4.7%); 35 million tons of chemical and mineral fertilizers (+2.7%); 18.6 million tons of cement (-5.3%); 29 million tons of forest cargo (+7.9%); 11.1 million tons of grain (+5.4%); 97.9 million tons of construction materials (+17.2%); 14.2 million tons of non-ferrous ore and sulfur feedstock (+4.7%); 16.9 million tons of chemicals and soda (+2%); 22.8 million tons of industrial feedstock and molded materials (+1.4%).
From the year beginning freight turnover totaled 1,536.4 billion tariff ton-km (+1.5%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs was 1,966.2 billion ton-km (+1.2%).
In August, Russian Railways loaded 105.9 million tons, up by 0.7% YoY. Freight turnover in August climbed by 2.1% to 198 billion tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs declined by 101.9% to 252.3 billion ton-km. (Portnews/Business World Magazine)
