First buyers of the new car model Nexia have received keys to their automobiles, the press service of GM Uzbekistan said.
Sales of new model of Nexia started in Uzbekistan on August 8.
First automobiles of Nexia and accessories were handed over to the first buyers during the special ceremony at Driver’s Village, a dealer center, in Tashkent.
The new model of automobile is based on T250 (Chevrolet Aveo) platform. The car will be sold under Chevrolet Nexia brand in Uzbekistan and Ravon Nexia R3 in foreign countries.
Third generation Nexia is equipped with 1.5-liter engine of GM Powertrain-Uzbekistan. It will have either five-step mechanic or six-step automatic transmission.
The automobile will also have ABS, driver safety airbag, immobilizer, daytime running lights (DRL) and Isofix attachments for child seats.
The export-oriented model of the automobile will be equipped with ERA-GLONASS navigation system, electronic stability control (ESC), as well as the system to control tire pressure.
GM Uzbekistan will invest $104.2 million into project on organization of serial production of automobile based on T250 platform.
The capacity of the new line will be 73,600 automobiles a year. Aveo will replace similar models, produced at GM Uzbekistan within two years and help to diversify exports. (UzDaily/Business World Magazine)
