As of August 8, Russian agrarians continued harvesting grains and pulses. Agrarians harvested grain crops throughout the areas of 17.7 million ha (15.6 million ha on the same date in 2015), or 37.4% of the planned areas (47.3 million ha). The produced volumes reached 62.5 million tons of grains, with the average yield of 3.54 t/ha (48.4 million tons in 2015 with the yield of 3.1 t/ha), the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reported.
In particular, agrarians harvested winter and spring wheat throughout 11.7 million ha (42.4% of the plan). The produced volumes reached 45.7 million tons, with the yield of 3.89 t/ha.
Russia harvested 9.2 million tons of winter and spring barley throughout 3.1 million ha (37.3%). The average yield totaled 2.97 t/ha.
Also, Russia harvested winter rapeseed throughout 73.2 thousand ha (7.4%), and produced 142.6 thousand tons of the oilseed, with the average yield of 1.95 t/ha.
Agrarians harvested flaxseed throughout 7.8 thousand ha only, or 16.2% of the planted areas. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
