Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers has increased the cost of coal used for calculating subsidies by 30.5% or 467.1 UAH, to 2,000 UAH per ton.
“If a household receives 2 tons of coal, it will receive 4,000 UAH (earlier around 3,000 UAH)”, Social Policy Minister Andriy Reva said.
Along with the cost of coal, the government also increased the price of liquefied natural gas (LNG) taken into account in subsidies, from 196.7 to 200 UAH per container.
The decisions made require the subventions from the national budget to be increased by 1.3 billion, to 2.5 billion UAH. Expenses will be covered thanks to redistribution of funds. (Interfax/Business World Magazine)
