In the first five months of 2016, the exports of goods from Ukraine decreased by 11.5% YoY (31.9% in January) and totaled $13.7 billion. Agricultural and food products (41.3%), metal industry products (22.8%) and engineering products (12.2%) formed the major share in the structure of exports, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine declared.
During five months of 2016, the European Union (39.4%) became the major trading partner of Ukraine in the export of goods, Russia’s share totaled 8.8% only. The exports to the EU increased by 4.5%, while in January the general reduction of goods export to the EU countries totaled 11.7%.
Ukraine mainly increased the supplies of agricultural and food products to the EU (up by $350 million). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
