The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) organized a week long interactive workshop on risk management and electronic customs declaration filing.
Irina Swift, a technical specialist, with more than 40 years of experience working on customs issues, conducted the seminar, the US Embassy in Tashkent said in a statement.
The implementation of risk management and e-declaration procedures speeds the customs clearance process and address issues that can contribute to border delays. Improved customs clearance times can reduce costs for Uzbek businesses and increase Uzbek regional trade competitiveness.
25 Uzbek customs service officers attended the workshop to learn how best international practices could be applied in Uzbekistan. This training is a part of USAID’s broader commitment to promote transparent customs administration processes in Uzbekistan. (UzDaily/Business World Magazine)
