Share of small businesses in the gross domestic product of Uzbekistan grew from 44.7% in the first half of 2015 to 46% in the first half of 2016, a publication of the Ministry of Economy and the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
At the same time, share of the sector in industry rose from 35.5% to 41.9%, investments – from 33.5% to 37.7% and employment – from 77.3% to 77.7%.
According to the publication, over 16,400 new small businesses were registered in the first six months of 2016, of which 31.4% fell to the share of industry and construction sector. (UzDaily/Business World Magazine)
