Uzbekistan signed about 270 agreement to export fruit and vegetables valued at over $2 billion during the First International Fruit and Vegetable Fair, held in Tashkent from 12 to 16 July.
The agreements to export fruit and vegetable were signed with representatives of over 30 countries, including Russia, USA, China, Great Britain, Germany, UAE, Japan, India and Turkey.
Within these agreements, Uzbekistan will export 2.4 million tons of fruit and vegetables. At the same time, Uzbekistan will export 857,000 tons of fruit and vegetables valued at $718 million in 2016.
About 27% of the contracted amount fell to vegetables, 25% – grapes, 20% – fruit, 17.6% – dried and processed products, 8.4% – legumes and 2% – melon. (UzDaily/Business World Magazine)
