In May Ukraine exported 213.8 KMT of soybean compared with 243.6 KMT in April 2016 and 150 KMT in May 2015. Despite the fact that during the last three months exports are higher than last year, total shipments during nine months of the 2015/2016 season (1941.5 KMT) are lower than last marketing year when 2092.3 KMT of soybeans were shipped abroad during September-May.
Among largest Ukrainian soy importers are Turkey – 737.5 KMT (38%), Egypt – 480 KMT (24.7%), the EU – more than 260 KMT (13%) and Iran – 194.7 KMT (10%). It should be noted that Ukrainian soybean shipments to Egyptian market are growing with each passing month.
Provided that positive dynamics of this season’s export continue, it’s quite possible that last year’s record-high of 2400 KMT will be achieved. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
