Imposition of the quotas on grain exports from Russia looks more preferential compared with current usage of the export duties, however realization of the reporting mechanism has some restrictions due to the Russian Federation’s obligations under the WTO, declared the Head of the Department for Control over Chemical Industry and Agro-industrial Complex at the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia Anna Mirochinenko.
In addition, such case raises new questions about distribution of the quotas among companies-exporters, said A. Mirochinenko.
At the same time, the official said that under current conditions, the usage of export duties on grains contributes to further control of the domestic market prices, as well as in other related industries, including animal husbandry, baking industry, etc. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
