Buckwheat and potatoes mostly rose in price in June in Kyrgyzstan.
According to the data of the National Statistics Committee, in June there was a slight increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic products – by 0.4%. Growth of prices for buckwheat (11.4%), fresh meat (1.6%), potatoes (1.6 times, considering the new crop), alcoholic beverages and tobacco products (0.2%) was observed.
At the end of six months the prices fell by 1.8%. For the same period of 2015 there was an increase of 0.2%.
In January-June prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages dropped by 4.9% YoY. The total decline in prices is observed, in spite of the increase in the cost of buckwheat (18.6%), fish (2.1%), apples (27.6%), dried fruit and nuts (2.5%). (24.kg/Business World Magazine)
