During her working visit to Brussels, Head of State Maia Sandu attended the EU budget conference, where she spoke about budget and values, investments and rights, enlargement and character, the presidential press service reported.
“The budget planning being discussed at the conference, hosted by Commissioner Hahn, is not a simple financial document. It is, in fact, a peace budget. The discussion about the EU budget is more than just a discussion about money, it is about a firm project to build a peaceful and prosperous Europe, a united Europe that not only develops but also protects. A Europe of which the Republic of Moldova is part”, the president said.
The President also pointed out that for the Republic of Moldova a European peace budget would be a huge help in protecting the values “we believe in and want to defend – peace, freedom and well-being.”
The head of state also discussed these issues during the meeting with Commissioner Hahn, who was due to visit Chisinau on May 9, Europe Day, to celebrate European Moldova. (Moldpres)
