As of August 26, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 38.2 million tons of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 9.87 million ha, or 68% of the plan. The average yield totaled 3.91 ton/ha, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reported. At the same time, on the same date last year the production volumes reached 37 million tons.
In particular, agrarians started harvesting corn. As of the reporting date, Ukraine harvested 8 thousand tons of the grain throughout 3 thousand ha. The average yield reached 3.32 ton/ha.
Ukraine harvested 60 thousand tons of buckwheat throughout 46 thousand ha (31%). The average yield totaled 1.29 ton/ha (in 2015 – 1.23 ton/ha). Agrarians harvested millet throughout 47 thousand ha (46%). The production volumes totaled 87 thousand tons, with the yield of 1.84 ton/ha (1.97 t/ha).
Agricultural enterprises of Ukraine harvested 71 thousand tons of sunflower seed throughout 37 thousand ha, with the average yield of 1.89 ton/ha. The forecast of sunflower areas total 5.9 million ha.
Also, agrarians planted winter rapeseed throughout 419 thousand ha, or 58% of the planned areas (in 2015 – 185 thousand ha).
