In January-July Klaipeda Seaport cargo handling turnover increased by 4,2% YoY, to 23.15 million tons, or by 933,3 thousand tons, says the port’s press center.
According to the rankings of the change of cargo throughput estimated in percent (4.2%) and the increase of cargo handling volumes estimated in tons (933.3 thousand tons) Klaipeda Seaport occupied the 3-rd standing in the list of the Eastern coast Baltic Seaports.
Year-on-year changes of overall turnover according to cargo types: general cargo – 7214.6 thousand tons, up by 11.3% YoY, or by 734.8 thousand tons; liquid cargo – 7252.8 thousand tons, up by 16.7% or by 1040.2 thousand tons; dry and bulk cargo – 8682.8 thousand tons, down by 8.8% or by 841.7 thousand tons.
3978 vessels were reported to call Klaipeda Seaport in January-July, up by 4.2% or by 161 vessel YoY. The Seaport accommodated 191999 passengers, up by 0.4% or by 702 passengers.
32 cruise vessels (up by 6.7% or by 2 vessels) with 34529 passengers on board (up by 1.9% or by 639 passengers) visited Klaipeda Seaport in May-July of the current year. (Portnews/Business World Magazine)
