Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili on May 26 congratulated citizens with Independence Day by saying “true independence” could only be achieved through ensuring a strong economic basis for the state.
Davitashvili highlighted the importance of the date and said he wished the nation “true freedom and prosperity” alongside “formal and legal independence”.
“Much remains to be done so that the country becomes truly independent – and in particular, economically stable and self-sufficient – and that we actually benefit from the blessings of freedom”, he said.
As part of events marking the date across Georgia, the minister visited public displays hosted by the ministry and its agencies, and emphasised the importance of not only developing innovative products in the country but also promoting them to both local and foreign consumers.
He said the ministry was making “every effort” to assist domestic businesses in being involved in international presentations and exhibits, with the goal of supporting them in making sure their goods are “widely advertised, highly valued and desired”. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
