The National Wine Agency will spend GEL 2 million ($756,000) on promoting Georgian wine at international industry fairs and domestic events throughout 2023.
The agency said it would set aside the sum from its overall GEL 14 million ($5.2 million) budget, and said the product would be featured in “all important international exhibitions”.
The effort will be made to help Georgian winemakers bring their products to markets in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, China, South Korea, Japan and the Baltic States.
Vinexpo Paris in the French capital in February will be the first international exhibition of the year where Georgian producers will have an opportunity to showcase their products and find new trade partners.
Along with international representation, wine exhibitions, competitions, tours and festivals will also be organised throughout Georgia, a direction the body said was “of great importance for increasing the potential of wine tourism and wine consumer culture”. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
