On August 9, Vice President of business development, global business projects of the company KT Corp. Lee Baek-hee held negotiations at the Ministry of foreign economic relations, investments and trade of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues on creation of joint venture and start of production of electronic meters under the project “Implementation of the automated system of accounting and control of consumption of electric energy”.
South Korean company KT Corp. won a tender for modernization of the system on electricity accounting in three regions of Uzbekistan valued at $101 million.
KT Corp. signed a contract with the joint-stock company Uzbekenergo for modernization of the system on electricity accounting in Bukhara, Jizzakh and Samarkand regions.
Within the contract, KT Corp. will install 1 million electricity meters based on two-side communication technology and create automated system of electricity consumption control and accounting in three regions. The project will be implemented within 28 months. (UzDaily/Business World Magazine)
