At the end of September the level of registered unemployment level was 5.7% of Latvia’s economically active population, down by 0.2% MoM, as reported by State Employment Agency.
There were 52,595 unemployed people registered with SEA at the end of September, down by 1,795 people.
The lowest unemployment level in Latvia was noted in Riga region – 3.9%, down by 0.2%. The highest unemployment level was noted in Latgale – 13.3%, down by 0.3%.
At the same time, unemployment in Zemgale, Vidzeme and Kurzeme declined by 0.2% in September.
At the end of September, the level of registered unemployment in Zemgale was 5.3% and in Vidzeme – 5.4% of the total number of economically active population. Kurzeme’s unemployment level was 6.1%.
Data from SEA showed that Riga’s level of registered unemployment was 3.7% at the end of September, down by 0.2% MoM.
