The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has refined the methodology for determining key food security indicators. The relevant resolution, “On Approval of the Methodology for Calculating Food Security Indicators,” was adopted during a Government meeting.
The need for this document arises from the fact that the methodology for assessing key food security indicators, established by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 1379 dated December 5, 2007, “Certain Issues of Food Security,” does not reflect current trends in Ukrainian and global markets.
This document was also adopted to harmonise and improve Ukrainian legislation, particularly in fulfilling the Ukraine Food Security Strategy for the period up to 2027.
The resolution will enable the creation of a unified toolkit for assessing the state of food security, incorporating modern methodologies, including those recommended by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). (Government portal)
