The Government has endorsed a number of decisions to support citizens and communities. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on April 11.
According to him, a resolution was approved to extend the supply of natural gas to district heating companies under the Public Service Obligation (PSO) regime until October 31.
“This means that the preferential gas prices for heat producers for the needs of the population and budgetary institutions will remain unchanged. At the end of March, the Government also extended preferential gas prices for households. Accordingly, the tariffs for heat, hot water and gas will remain in place,” said Denys Shmyhal, adding that subsidies for the off-season would be re-appointed automatically to most recipients.
Also, UAH 1.5 billion of additional subsidies were allocated to the communities and regions that needed it most.
“We distribute more than UAH 500 million to the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Kherson regions to pay for utilities in healthcare facilities,” the Head of Government said.
He also noted that almost UAH 1 billion had been directed to communities with lower revenues from personal income tax, as well as from land fees and the single tax.
“Thus, people in these communities will continue to receive all the services they need,” the Prime Minister stressed. (Government portal)
