Ukraine has received a shipment of aid from German partners as part of the agreements to deepen the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership signed in Kyiv in April by Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko and German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck.
The shipment includes 27 sets of solar modules with inverters and 26 advanced EcoFlow batteries from Germany’s Green Planet Energy.
The aid will be used by JSC Mykolaivoblenergo.
A further 48 panels with a capacity of up to 500 W will be distributed for the needs of the Merefa community in Kharkiv region.
The partners also handed over 16 solid-insulated power transformers from Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), Germany’s largest public transport company, as well as a transformer, switchgear and cable reels from Maass GmbH and Energie Waldeck-Frankenberg.
In addition, within the framework of the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership, 55 generators and 11 aluminium wire coils were purchased and delivered to Ukraine with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
“Today, Ukraine is in the midst of the largest ever repair campaign of its energy facilities. We are preparing for a heating season that could be no less challenging than the previous one. And the support of our international partners in this preparation is very valuable, especially for the renewable energy sector. We are grateful to Germany for its strong support,” said Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.
In April, the heads of the relevant Ukrainian and German ministries signed a joint statement of intent in Kyiv, expanding the areas of the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership with a focus on green renewable energy and the rehabilitation of Ukraine’s energy sector.
The main objective of the renewed bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Energy Partnership is to support the rehabilitation of the energy infrastructure according to the principles of sustainability and to accelerate the green transformation of the energy sector.
