The enemy continues to terrorise the population of the frontline areas by shelling energy facilities.
On May 16, one of the power transmission lines in Dnipropetrovsk region was disconnected as a result of hostilities. This led to technological disruptions and disconnections for more than 6,000 customers. An overhead power line in Donetsk region was disconnected due to shelling. As a result, a mine with more than 30 people in it was cut off.
Power cuts were also recorded in Odesa region. The reason was a technological failure. All consumers have been supplied with power. In Sumy region, a tractor damaged one of the power line towers and repair works were underway.
In general, some consumers in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions are still experiencing power outages due to previous shelling.
At the same time, power companies continue to restore electricity supply where the security situation allows.
In particular, a 12-kilometre line damaged since the start of hostilities was restored in Kharkiv region. To allow power engineers to repair the line, sappers had to defuse more than 1,000 anti-tank and anti-personnel mines.
In total, nearly 7,000 consumers were supplied with electricity overnight.
The most extensive repair campaign of energy infrastructure facilities over the years of independence is underway in preparation for the new heating season.
Both generation facilities and grid infrastructure are being repaired as planned.
However, no restrictions are planned for household consumers. The power system is operating stably. (Government portal/Business World Magazine)
