Russia ($467.1 million), Turkey ($387 million) and China ($246.4 million) were the top trading partners of Georgia in its total external trade turnover between January and February, preliminary data from the National Statistics office of Georgia showed.
Georgia’s top partners by exports were Armenia ($133.1 million), Russia ($128.2 million) and China ($112.4 million), while the top markets by imports were Russia ($338.8 billion), Turkey ($322.2 million) and China ($134 million).
The top export items were: motorcars – $236.8 million (25.9% of total exports), copper ores and concentrates – $143.4 million (15.7%) and ferroalloys – $71.7 million (7.8%).
The three top import commodities included motorcars – $207.8 million (10.5% of total imports), petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons – $175.5 million (8.8%) and petroleum and petroleum oils – $158.4 million (8%).
Overall, Georgian external trade turnover amounted to $2.89 billion between January and February, up by 12.3% YoY.
The value of exports rose by 20.3% and equaled $914.8 million, while imports grew by 9%, amounting to $1.98 billion in the first two months of 2023. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
