Cricova winery launched for the first time the series of organic wines – WILD. This was possible thanks to the company’s investments in modern management methods, qualified specialists and modern technologies.
Attending the event, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, said that organic wines were increasingly appreciated by local consumers and demanded outside the country, which represented new opportunities for Cricova company.
“The event places the Republic of Moldova among the states with the highest quality products. We will continue to work to adjust the legislative framework to the provisions of the European Union, as the goal is for producers to use all export opportunities. The consumption potential of organic wine in the European community is significant, and our country has managed to take a big step to advance in this segment,” the official said.
According to company representatives, the wines are designed according to a series of strict rules. They have special organoleptic qualities. The WILD range contains 2 ecological wines – “WILD Feteasca Regala white dry wine” and “WILD Feteasca Neagra pink dry wine”. Each position is bottled in a quantity of 9,500 bottles. Cricova wine company is among the first companies in the Republic of Moldova to obtain certification on the European market for organic products.
The management of vines in organic farming involves the use of products of natural origin for the fertilization and protection of the vines, the prohibition of GMOs and the care of the plantation is strictly based on manual work. In order to ensure the health of the plantations, the company’s specialists emphasize natural vegetation, which facilitates the creation of a balanced and diverse environment, compensating for the lack of treatments with systemic substances and ensuring the lack of moisture. Also, the wine materials after processing are used as ecological fertilizers for the vines. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
