This year, Ukraine needs another $17 billion for the rapid reconstruction of energy, critical and housing infrastructure, as well as economic recovery, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has announced during a government meeting.
“At the same time, Ukraine needs another $17 billion this year to achieve rapid recovery. It is about the reconstruction of the energy industry, people’s homes, humanitarian demining, critical infrastructure and restoration of the economy,” Shmyhal said.
Shmyhal recalled that Japan had already announced financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $5.5 billion for the reconstruction of infrastructure, and the Norwegian government – a multi-year support program worth EUR 7.5 billion, which would be directed to the military, economic and humanitarian spheres.
