On February 13-19, the Customs Service collected over 688.1 million lei (about 34.4 million euros) to the state budget.
According to the institution, private people brought goods with customs value exceeding the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to over 19.1 million lei were collected, which represented 2.8% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
At the same time, 11,867 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 68,800 crossings.
In the fight against fraud, 54 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 182 thousand lei were applied.
Since the beginning of the current year, the Customs Service has collected about 4.4 billion lei to the state budget, up by 25.8% YoY. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
