Eastern Partnership Investment in Connectivity (EPIC) Coordination Committee approved Moldova’s request for financial support for the elaboration of the feasibility studies necessary for the construction of the Chisinau ring road, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR) announced on December 21.
Under the decision, the Republic of Moldova will sign next year a cooperation agreement for technical assistance between MIDR, State Road Administration and the European Investment Bank (EIB), which will regulate the particularities of project implementation.
“At the same time, next year the funding request will be submitted for the development of the feasibility studies necessary for the construction of the Ungheni-Chisinau-Odesa highway, which will interconnect the Republic of Moldova with Romania and Ukraine, by means of a high-speed road with significant economic potential,” indicates MIDR.
