More than eight out of ten people in Lithuania think that the situation in the country is getting worse, according to a survey conducted by Baltijos Tyrimai for LRT.
The survey, conducted in late October and early November, found 84% of the respondents pessimistic about how things were going in the country, while 15% thought the situation was getting better.
Compared to the same survey in September, there is a slight uptick in optimism, as back then only 9% thought things were improving and 90% thought the opposite.
When asked whether things were going for the better or for the worse in their own municipality, as opposed to nationally, 52% were optimistic and 34% said the situation was getting worse. 14% said they did not know.
The survey was carried out by the public opinion and market research company Baltijos Tyrimai between October 26 and November 8. It involved 1,021 respondents aged 18 and over. (LRT/Business World Magazine)
