In Ternopil region, sugar beet harvesting has been slowed down due to unfavorable weather conditions.
But agrarians are actively delivering the harvested sugar beets to sugar factories. More than 200,000 tons of raw materials have been received for sugar production since the beginning of the season, and there are enough raw materials for the factories to operate.
In general, in the region, sugar beets were harvested from the area of 3,6 thousand hectares out of a total of more than 20 thousand hectares (18%). The average yield of sweet roots amounts to 563 tons/ha and is higher than last year. (Ukrsugar/Business World Magazine)
