Factories have processed 175,500 tons of grapes from the ongoing harvest in Georgia’s eastern winemaking region of Kakheti, with about 16,000 growers generating GEL 174 million (about $61,514,530) in income so far, the national wine agency has announced.
Growers have processed the following grape varieties: Rkatsiteli – 102.7 tons, Saperavi – 75.5 tons and Kakhuri Mtsvane – 4.5 tons.
About 225 wine factories have been involved in the work, with an average of 9,000 tons processed per day. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
