Lithuania’s Economy Ministry has announced a competition to find a trade representative who will work in Taiwan on developing the country’s economic ties in the Southeast Asian region.
“I hope the selected trade representative will not only successfully lead the Lithuanian commercial representative office, but also provide an impetus to attract more investments, promote exports of Lithuanian goods and services, as well as promote mutual technological cooperation, tourism and other activities,” Economy Minister Ausrine Armonaite said in the ministry’s statement.
The possibility to establish Lithuanian trade representative offices in countries without diplomatic missions or consular offices was introduced last September when the Lithuanian parliament passed amendments to the Law on Civil Service.
