From January 1, 2022, it is planned to increase fares on the subway and buses in Tashkent, from $0.13 (1,400 soms) to $0.16 (1,700 soms), according to a draft decision of the capital’s mayor.
In addition, it is planned to review the cost of tariffs and to introduce a limit on the number of rides when using the transport cards (the current fares do not limit the number of rides and transfers).
Using a transport card one trip will cost an average of $0.12 (1,300 soms), while $2.7 (29,000 soms) must be paid for 22 trips, which should lead to a reduction in cash turnover. (Uzreport/Business World Magazine)
