Uzbekistan’s State Assets Management Agency (SAMA) said it was conducting preparations for the privatization of the Ferganaazot, one of the country’s largest producers of mineral fertilizers. The plant produces ammonia, urea, ammonium nitrate, CAS, as well as a number of other chemical products. The government plans to sell 99,02% of its share in the enterprise.
Deloitte was chosen as the leading consultant on the privatization process, while KPMG was chosen as the evaluation organization.
Negotiations were underway with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to support the transaction in the role of a strategic consultant.
SAMA said that Ferganaazot was one of the most profitable enterprises with state share in 2020, having received $27.2 million in profit. (Uzreport/Business World Magazine)
