Uzbekistan exported $1 billion worth of cotton yarn during the first eight months of 2021, against $559.1 million in 2020. Cotton yarn accounted for 55.8% of the total textile export.
The country exported $430.7 million worth ready-made knitwear and sewing products and $158.8 million worth of knitted fabric.
The share of other items, including carpets, fabrics, silk products, etc. was insignificant.
The total textile export during the reporting period comprised $1.89 billion, or 20.4% of the total export volume.
More than 468 types of textile products were exported to 61 countries around the world.
The biggest importers of textile goods were Russia ($593 million, 31.3%) and China ($475.6 million, 25.1%). (Uzreport/Business World Magazine)
