Uzbekistan has become the first country to send commercial cargo to Afghanistan since the Taliban took the government, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Afghanistan reports.
The cargo was delivered on two trains. The quantity and purpose of the goods was not specified.
The Taliban have not yet announced a final decision on the future political structure of the country. However, members of the CCI leadership have already held a meeting with representatives of the movement, according to the chamber’s website. During the meeting, the businessmen drew attention of the Taliban to the existing problems in the field of trade, including closed banks and marriage salons, problems with customs clearance of goods, as well as the concern of Afghan entrepreneurs about the security situation. The Taliban, as noted, promised to work out solutions to the above-mentioned problems as soon as possible.
The representative of the movement Zabihullah Mujahid said that the Taliban intended to improve the investment attractiveness of Afghanistan and restore the economy by attracting professionals to work. At the same time, he urged those who cooperated with foreign forces to return to work and not be afraid. (Uzreport/Business World Magazine)
