In 2020, Astarta, the largest sugar producer in Ukraine, exported sugar beet processing products worth $12.81 million, which accounted for 15.5% of total exports of these products from Ukraine, the expert of Ernst&Young international company Viktor Kovalenko announced.
Kovalenko noted that the export of Astarta’s products accounted for every 100th US dollar received by Ukraine in 2020 from agricultural and food products exports.
Astarta is a vertically integrated agri-industrial holding operating in eight regions of Ukraine. It includes eight sugar factories, farms with a land bank of 220 thousand hectares and dairy farms, seven elevators, a biogas complex and a soybean-processing plant in Poltava region.
In 2020, the agricultural holding increased its net profit 5.1-fold, to EUR 8.61 million, while its revenue decreased by 7.2%, to EUR 415.63 million. (Ukrsugar/Business World Magazine)
