Uzbekistan aims to increase volume of digital economy services to $1.5 billion, and export of computer software to $40 million, president Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s press office has reported.
Mirziyoyev, addressing a videoconference on July 13, said that digitalization in several industries was still lagging behind.
“The work done in recent years has really yielded results, services have become more convenient and closer to people. But digital technologies are changing every day, new opportunities are opening up. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a roadmap for the introduction of new software products in each ministry, state body and region,” he noted.
Mirziyoyev’s 2030 Digital Uzbekistan Strategy, approved on October 5, 2020, outlines programs for the digital transformation of regions and industries over the next few years.
The introduction of an information system for managing contracts in Uztransgas has reduced costs by $2.9 million. The introduction of a system for paying 360 types of state duties through a Single billing system has saved $2.3 million.
The volume of services rendered in the field of the digital economy amounted to $677 million YTD.
Mirziyoyev also urged to increase the types of public services provided through mobile apps, so that citizens would be able to receive information about the municipal, cadastral, tax, customs spheres, pension provision and labor relations online. (Uzreport/Business World Magazine)
