Latvian ministries have submitted financing requests worth EUR 1.68 billion from the next year’s state budget, as reported by Ministry of Finance.
The Ministry of Finance has compiled the financing requests submitted by ministries and state institutions for priorities.
In total, ministries have submitted financing requests worth EUR 1.68 billion for the 2022 state budget. Ministries have outlined an even larger amount for future years – EUR 2.06 billion from the 2023 state budget and EUR 2.46 billion from the 2024 state budget.
According to information from the Ministry of Finance, the biggest amount – EUR 702.13 million – was requested from the 2022 state budget by the Ministry of Healthcare. Next is the Ministry of Environment Protection and Regional Development with EUR 213.06 million, Ministry of Economy with EUR 168.44 million, Ministry of Education and Science with EUR 147.03 million and Ministry of Transport with EUR 142.79 million.
The Ministry of the Interior requests EUR 76.69 million from the 2022 state budget, the Ministry of Welfare – EUR 76.52 million, the Ministry of Agriculture – EUR 53.02 million and the Ministry of Culture – EUR 51.07 million.
The Ministry of Finance will request EUR 14.15 million from the 2022 state budget, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – EUR 9.66 million and the Ministry of Justice – EUR 7.69 million.
The Ministry of Finance adds the requested financing amounts are indicative and will be clarified soon.
Currently it is unknown how much of the 2022 state budget will be available to finance priorities of ministries. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
