The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection received a report on the results of the audit and proposals for further exports of Ukrainian products to the EU, which was conducted by the European Commission from March 1 to March 12.
“Among Ukrainian companies that have the right to export products for human consumption to the EU, there are 25 producers of milk and dairy products. For many companies, the right to export to the EU market is a significant advantage in other markets,” reads the report.
Head of the Food Safety and Consumer Protection State Service Vladyslava Mahaletska noted that the successful completion of the audit confirmed the effectiveness of the system of state control.
“This is a daily high-quality work of many specialists. It is very important not only to expand the access of Ukrainian products to EU markets, but also to maintain its high quality,” she said.
In 2016, the access to EU markets for products of animal origin from Ukraine was expanded. In January 2016, Ukraine received a permit to export dairy products to the EU. Since the second half of 2016, 13 Ukrainian companies have started exporting dairy products to the EU. Today the number of such enterprises has risen to 25. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
