President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on April 27 inked a decree aimed at improving the infrastructure of free economic zones (FEZ) and small industrial zones (SIZ). For this purpose, the government is set to allocate $152 million.
Some $55 million is to be allocated for the construction of electricity, gas and water supply networks, sewerage and roads in 17 free economic zones, while another $37.5 million is to be channeled towards the development of 145 small industrial zones.
If all goes to plan, the FEZ until the end of this year would see the implementation of 332 projects worth over $1.1 billion. More than 1,800 projects worth $900 million are to be realized within SIZ. (Uzreport/Business World Magazine)
